Marshfield based CARE, LLC, Geriatric Care Management Providers Celebrate One-Year Anniversary and Growing Professional Staff

DATELINE: EASTON, MARSHFIELD AND QUINCY, MACARE, LLC, Consultation, Advocacy and Resources for Elders (CARE), providers of geriatric care management to elders and their families throughout the South Shore and upper Cape Cod, is celebrating their first anniversary.

CARE, LLC is a partnership between Kate Granigan, MSW, LICSW who is the agencys Executive Director and a Managing Partner; and MBC Senior Services, Inc led by Lou Schippers, PhD, Chief Financial Officer; Nate Murray, MSSW, LICSW Chief Executive Officer and Donna McQuinn, PsyD. Dedicated to helping elders living in their own homes or in assisted living facilities, the managing partners joined together in 2004 to fulfill a community need for geriatric care managers who are licensed professional human service providers.

"We help elders and their families by providing professional assessments and locating sand managing resources for them. Elders often have complex practical needs and may require access to a bewildering array of public and private resources. Our job is to develop a plan and address their needs. Its very difficult for family members who live far from an elderly family member, to gauge what kind of care is needed and where it can be found. CARE helps by serving as a liaison," explained Ms. Granigan.

She continued, "We want our geriatric clients to attain their maximum functional potential, so we strive to deliver care coordination and support services that will not only meet an elders needs, but do so in such a way that preserves dignity. Over the past year, we have become the most requested Care Management provider on the South Shore."

All of CAREs staff are masters degree level Board Certified Clinical Social Workers and Nurses and are experienced specialists in providing care to elders. The agency establishes a new professional level of services designed to screen, arrange and monitor in-home help or other services for elders. CARE can also provide crisis intervention, and can act as a liaison for families who live far away.

The agency has experience significant growth over the past year and is currently expanding their staff with the addition of two more Masters degree level Care Managers and a Clinician

James Sullivan Joins Marshfield based elder agency, CARE, LLC as Care Manager

DATELINE: MILTON AND MARSHFIELD, MAJames Sullivan, MSW, LCSW, a Milton resident, has recently been named Care Manager at CARE, LLC, Consultation, Advocacy and Resources for Elders. Located in Marshfield, CARE provides geriatric care management to elders and their families throughout the South Shore and upper Cape Cod.

Mr. Sullivan holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Social Work from Fordham University in New York and is a licensed social worker. In his new role at CARE, Mr. Sullivan will oversee elder clients care, ensuring their complex, practical needs are met for optimal quality of life. His responsibilities includescreening, arranging and monitoring in-home help and other services for elders as well as providing crisis intervention and acting as a liaison for families who live far away.

In addition to being a Care Manager at CARE, Mr. Sullivan also serves as a Clinical Therapist at Mass Bay Counseling in Marshfield and the AHISMA Center for Growth and Development in Milton. Previously, Mr. Sullivan worked for Arms Acres Outpatient Addition Treatment Center in New York City. For the past four years, Mr. Sullivan has been a non-paid consultant to the Boston Archdiocese Office of Pastoral Support and Outreach. He is affiliated with the National Association of Social Workers.

Mr. Sullivan is a native and resident of Milton.
